Fontargen brazing pastes with environmentally compatible binder-system

The binder system, which Fontargen produces and which is used in copper- and nickel based pastes, was tested for its environmentally compatibility. The test is certified according to method OECD 301B (DIN EN ISO 9435 2000-10). The binder will be degraded within 28 days by a defined flora, whereupon the development of CO2 is measured as a decomposition product.

The coevally conducted toxicity control did not adduce evidence of an inhibiting effect on the degrading flora. This is indeed a positive result! The binder was classified as “Environmentally compatible, readily biodegradable“. The test report of the assigned institution includes the complete test description, accomplishment and analysis.
